According to multiple reports, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is investing in a Maltese based blockchain company.

The company is known as EFFORCE and focuses on energy efficiency through blockchain technology with Steve Wozniak as a co-founder.

Wozniak will be working in hand with partner Jacopo Visetti. Visetti is a known active player within the renewable energy sector. According to his Linkedin page, Mr. Visetti launched EFFORCE about a year ago, on January 2018 to be exact.

EFFORCE is known to offer a blockchain-based platform aiming to manage energy efficiently and transparently.

At the Delta Summit in Malta, Wozniak further reiterated that “efficiency has always been important to him”, he followed up with “ the idea is to save money on energy but also to do good on the environment”

He is a firm believer that Distributed Ledger technologies can play an impactful role in ameliorating energy consumption without changing our way of life.

As per the company’s Linkedin page, EFFORCE aims  “to be recognized as the first and main platform in the world for tokenized energy savings.”

When it comes to blockchain technology the country Malta is seen as a safe heaven. The Maltese government is known to be quite open-minded when it comes to new and emerging technologies.

For Wozniak, EFFORCE  provides “a unique business model and we can have a great impact on the entrepreneurship.” For him, there is no better place than the country of Malta to kick up this initiative.

The tech mogul has also co-founded other blockchain-related projects. Back in 2018, he became part of a blockchain-focused venture capital fund EQUI Global.
