Mena Regions Just Got “Huobied”

That’s right! Digital assets exchange giant, Huobi group is now expanding its operations to the Middle Eastern, African markets, aka MENA regions, in a bid to provide services to its unbanked or underbanked residents, and so Huobi Mena was born, as you can visit https://www.huobimena.com to see that!

In fact, Huobi MENA was a focal topic among the global series of elite gatherings on October 24th & 25th at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai, where “The World Blockchain Summit” took place.

Aside from that, the Co-Founder & Director of Huobi MENA, Mr. Mohit Davar, was a speaker at the World Blockchain Summit as he gave an outstanding pitch of his newborn project. Mr. Davar is also Chairman of the International Money Transfer Network.

The event was featuring a variety of topics around the blockchain technology; Attendees were quite “various” too, including crypto influencers, industry speakers, founders, advisors, advocates, and even celebrities. What a perfect occasion to announce Huobi’s arrival to MENA region! especially if you give that mission to Davar; he literally drowned everyone’s attention to his favor while pronouncing the words: “We are very excited to bring the Huobi blockchain and digital asset ecosystem to the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. As Dubai is leading the blockchain effort in the region, it made sense for us to set up our Regional Head Office here”

His words were followed by an official communication from Huobi Group. As per the notification, Huobi MENA will build an ecosystem which will include OTC trading, token-to-token trading, blockchain projects incubation, community development, and an educational center. A separate trading platform for Huobi MENA is already live (beta ver.) with Token-to-token and OTC trading options.

Now if we look closely to the motifs behind such a move, it won’t take us long to realize that this expansion plan is probably one of the most strategic decisions that Huobi had undertaken: MENA Region avails a population of 381 million people spread across 21 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. This region is home to the largest oil-producing nations in the world, plus it has the most prosperous countries in the world such as Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait who happen to be on the list of countries with highest per capita income.

On the other hand, the region has a very positive and insightful outlook towards Blockchain technology, for instance, Saudi Arabia and UAE: these two countries went the extra mile by making the blockchain technology a substantial part of the government growth vision itself. ( KSA vision 2030 and UAE Vision 2020).

Another major factor in selecting MENA as the ultimate expansion destiny is the immense presence of huge expatriates population, which gives a huge opportunity to blockchain-based projects to tap the remittance market (which is plagued by high fees and slowness) by providing cheap and affordable alternatives.

All of this leaves us undoubting of Huobi MENA’s choice of Dubai as its HQ. I mean, Dubai is already on its way to becoming “The World’s First Blockchain-Powered Government” by 2020 and Huobi MENA has started its journey right on time, and most certainly in the right place!
